Terms of Service
The short version: Spell It Daily is a free game. Play fair, be decent in shared Discord spaces, and don't try to break it or dig out the answers. In Discord, other players in your server can see your name, your results, and (once they've finished the same word) your wrong guesses. The game is provided as is. These terms are governed by North Carolina law.
1. Who we are
Spell It Daily (the "Game") is made and run by the creator known as lvl99drgnslyr ("we", "us"). You can reach us at spellitdaily.game@gmail.com.
2. Agreeing to these terms
By playing the Game on the web at spellitdaily.com, or through its Discord Activity or Discord bot, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Game.
3. The Game
The Game is free. It gives you a daily word to hear and spell, with hints, stats and sharing. In Discord it also offers a shared Activity, slash commands, server leaderboards and automatic result posts. We may change, pause or stop any part of the Game at any time, including the word list, features and schedule.
Tips. If you like the Game, you can leave a tip on our Ko-fi page at ko-fi.com/spellitdaily. Tips are completely optional and don't unlock any features, content or advantages; everyone gets the same Game. Tips are not charitable donations and are not tax-deductible. Payments are handled by Ko-fi and its payment providers under their own terms. Tips are generally not refundable, but if you tipped by mistake, email us and we'll do our best to help.
4. Who can play
- The website needs no account. If you're under 13, please play with a parent's or guardian's permission.
- The Discord features require a Discord account, so you must meet Discord's minimum age and follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
5. Signing in with Discord and what others can see
Inside Discord, the Game asks Discord for permission to know who you are (your user ID and display name), which servers you're in (so only members see a server's results), and to show what you're playing on your profile. We use this only to run the Game's features. In each Discord server where you play:
- Your display name, which levels you finished, and how many tries you took appear on that server's lists and leaderboard.
- The Game's bot may post your result in the channel where you played (for example, "spelled today's Hard word in 2/3"). These posts never include the word or your guesses.
- Your guesses for a word are shown to other members of that server only after they have finished the same word that day.
On the website, your progress, streaks and settings are saved only in your own browser. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what we collect and how to have it deleted.
6. Playing fair
You agree not to:
- Cheat or fake results, or use tools, scripts or the Game's code to find answers ahead of time.
- Spoil the daily answers for others in shared spaces where people haven't played yet.
- Attack, overload, scrape, or try to break or get around the Game, its servers or its protections.
- Use the Game or its bot to spam, harass, or break Discord's rules.
- Copy the Game, its word list, definitions, sentences, recordings or artwork to make your own game or product.
We may remove results, reset leaderboard entries, or block access for anyone who breaks these Terms.
7. Our content
The Game, including its code, design, logo, word list, definitions, example sentences, voice recordings and artwork, belongs to us and is protected by copyright. You may play it for personal, non-commercial fun, and you're welcome to share your results, screenshots and short clips of you playing. Please don't use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you.
8. Other services
The Game runs on services from other companies, including Discord and Netlify, and tips go through Ko-fi. Their own terms and policies also apply when you use them. Spell It Daily is an independent game and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Discord, Netlify, Ko-fi, or any other word or puzzle game.
9. No guarantees
The Game is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise it will always work, be error-free, or keep your progress or streaks. Definitions and sentences are written for fun and practice and may contain mistakes. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
10. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, streaks or progress, arising from your use of the Game. Because the Game is free, our total liability to you for any claim related to the Game is limited to US $10.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the effective date at the top of this page. If you keep playing after an update, you accept the new Terms.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
